You know that you need to train your entire body, but to figure out which area of your body requires attention first can be difficult. Well, if you have just started exercising, we would recommend you to focus on your core.

Why training your core muscles should be your first choice?

Your core muscles don’t just comprise of your abdomen. Your back, abdomen and hips, all together form the core. It is the largest muscle of the body and as the name suggests, it is at the core of every move you make. It supports your posture and helps to stabilise your body when you move. No matter what you are doing, whether you are standing up, turning, bending or twisting, everything starts with your core. It justifies why having a strong core muscle is much more important than building your triceps or biceps.

How should you start training your core?

Now that you know that your core muscles should be the first area you should target, the question is what you should do to train it. You must start with basic core exercises. Here are some core exercises that you can do in the beginning:

Bridge: This exercise targets your lower back and hip muscles. It helps to improve hip mobility and strengthening your lower back.

Dead bug: This is another excellent core strength and trunk stabilizing exercise. This exercise helps to improve stability in the hips and trunk.

Leg raise: Leg raise is good for increasing the range of motion of the hips and stabilising you move. Apart from that, it improves the strength and flexibility of your hips and back.
